ENSURE YOUR HOME’S ELECTRICAL SAFETY WITH AN EICR
Ensuring your home’s electrical safety is essential for your protection. The best way to check the condition of your electrics is by having a qualified electrician perform an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report). In the UK, domestic properties should have an EICR every 10 years, with rental properties requiring one every five years. It’s also advisable for homes to undergo testing before being sold. Commercial properties may need more frequent checks, and in some cases, such as thatched roof houses, an EICR may be required for insurance. If it’s been a while since your last check, contact us via our quote form for a quick estimate. The small cost provides priceless peace of mind.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM AN EICR INSPECTION
An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) involves two key components: visual checks and electrical testing. During the visual inspection, we assess lights, sockets, wiring, and the consumer unit to ensure they meet safety standards. We also check bonding and earthing.
The electrical tests measure the earthing resistance, verify the wiring insulation, check the polarity, and confirm that the RCD (trip switch) operates correctly. After the inspection, we provide a detailed report, which can be shared with insurers or tenants. If any safety issues are found, we include photos and offer a free, itemised quote for repairs.
